British Beekeepers Association (BBKA)

The BBKA was set up in 1874 to promote and further the craft of beekeeping and to advance the education of the public in the importance of bees in the environment.  It is the UK's leading organisation representing beekeepers.

The BBKA promotes:

  • the importance of bees in the environment

  • support for beekeepers through education necessary to maintain healthy colonies of bees

  • awareness of the craft of beekeeping

BeeBase

BeeBase is an invaluable resource for beekeepers that is run by the National Bee Unit. Not only is BeeBase part of the network of information available to help and guide beekeepers, it is also there to help you take the necessary action to protect your colonies from any known disease outbreaks in your area.

Once you register, the NBU can alert you to any disease outbreaks and arrange to inspect your
colonies if necessary.
